Alicia Villarreal, the renowned singer, created a stir during a concert in Michoacán on February 16 by making the international signal for help in cases of gender violence, and subsequently denouncing a violent attack by her ex-husband, Cruz Martínez, a music producer. In an interview with journalist Pati Chapoy on the show 'Ventaneando' almost a month after the events, Villarreal decided to break the silence on the delicate issue.
During the interview, the singer shared how she experienced the anguish, fear, and discomfort during the night of the attack, noting that she couldn't fully explain what happened, but felt the need to protect herself and document her situation. She managed to escape from her husband and leave her home without money, seeking refuge in her office.
When questioned about Martínez's aggressiveness, Alicia Villarreal confirmed that he was extremely aggressive and stated that she does not know what triggered this violence. She also emphasized that the best thing for her is not to see him again and lamented the spread of lies surrounding the issue, highlighting that her ex-husband Arturo Carmona, father of her daughter, has no reason to comment on it.
For his part, Arturo Carmona responded to Alicia Villarreal's statements through journalist Lucho Borrego from the program 'Siéntese quien pueda.' Carmona expressed his concern for the safety and well-being of the mother of his daughter, mentioning that he would only intervene in matters affecting his daughter. He stressed that his priority is to advocate for the well-being of the mother of his offspring and affirmed that his intervention is limited to situations involving his direct family.
